Your Brain Might Be the One

Sitting Out on the Dance Floor

Ever noticed how before you even step into class, your brain’s already trying to talk you out of dancing?

"I’m not coordinated."
"I have two left feet."
"I could never do that."

Sound familiar?

Here's the thing... your body is totally ready to move. It’s your mind that’s throwing out excuses like confetti. Your brain LOVES keeping you safe, comfortable, and predictable. It thinks it's doing you a favor by keeping you in your comfort zone... even if that comfort zone is the couch.

But learning to dance isn’t about being perfect - it’s about being curious, playful, and open to a little awkwardness. And guess what? Everyone starts somewhere. Every dancer you admire was once a beginner who stumbled, laughed, and kept going.

So next time your brain says,
"I can’t..."
try replying with:
"What if I can?"
or even better:
"I’m just here to try and have fun."

That small shift opens the door to learning - and maybe even loving - something new.

The truth is: your body doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs a chance. Let your brain chill out in the back row while your feet do their thing.

See you on the dance floor soon?
